Official Welcome by SLAM President Anne Lamort
The Syndicat national de la Librairie Ancienne et Moderne (SLAM) is pleased and proud to welcome antiquarian booksellers from all over the world to the 41st Congress of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers in Paris from 14th to 16th April 2014. For this event, the organizing team has planned a diverse and enlightening program including: a visit to the Arsenal Library which has remained true to its literary and bibliophile tradition, an exceptional presentation of the treasures held in the National Library of France, an excursion to Ecouen Castle which is home to the National Museum of the Renaissance, a visit of the enchanting Castle of Chantilly, former residence of the Duke of Aumale who was a renowned bibliophile, a private visit of the Dutuit Collection at the Petit Palace in Paris with its rich collection of incunabula and gothic works and finally a tour showing the remarkable pieces in the Mazarine Library under the guidance of chief curator Yann Sordet.
