Le Livre & la Mort XIVe - XVIIIe siècle

Ilona Hans-Collas, Fabienne Le Bars, Danielle Quéruel, Nathalie Rollet-Bricklin, Yann Sordet, Anne Weber, eds.

Conceived to accompany the double exhibition held in Paris at the two sites of the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève and the Mazarine in the spring of 2019, this beautiful book is clearly bipartite: the first part includes about ten articles, while the second part collects the descriptions relating to the works on display. The actual catalogue opens with an introduction by Nathalie Rollet-Bricklin and Anne Weber and includes a hundred entries, which are notable both for the beauty of the images and the quality of the accompanying texts: although necessarily synthetic, they provide all the fundamental information needed to introduce the works and books concerned, and offer an essential bibliography.
