This volume publishes several studies on 15th-century Italian typography, examining exemplary cases and technical issues related to the diffusion of printing from its origins to the early years of its establishment in the peninsula. It also reconstructs the life of the Camaldoli monastic library from the 16th century until the suppressions. This series of essays—the fruit of over forty years of work—thus attempts to reconstruct the history and technique of movable-type printing in Italy.
