Entre l'atelier et le lecteur

Malcolm Walsby

The printing and reading of Renaissance books is already well known. But what happened between the moment the ink dried on the pages in the printer's workshop and the moment a reader picked up a volume has not been thoroughly studied. Yet this movement from workshop to reader was a crucial stage in the life of any edition. It is precisely this trade that allows us to understand the impact of printing in Renaissance France.
