Fred Marcellino’s artwork can be divided into three categories: his editorial work for magazines, his record cover and book jacket designs, and the crowning achievement of his career: the children’s book illustrations. A consummate draftsman, Marcellino employed watercolor and color pencil to sensitively portray characters and settings, often creating unique perspectives and historically accurate locales.

This exhibition focuses on Marcellino's children's books, but also touches his unparalleled achievements in his other creative realms. Among the highlights which are on show: the origianl artwork for Puss in Boots (1990) along with Marcellino's works A Rat’s Tale (1986), The Steadfast Tin Soldier (1992), The Wainscott Weasel (1993), The Story of Little Babaji (1996), The Trumpet of the Swan (2000).
