Now in its sixth year, Melbourne Rare Book Week (MRBW) is the premier Australian event for those who share a love of print on paper, history, libraries, bookshops and cultural institutions. MRBW has grown dramatically in size and reputation since we first thought of presenting a series of book-related events as a lead-in to ANZAAB’s Melbourne Rare Book Fair in 2012.

The ‘brand’ has now become international, with London, Edinburgh, Boston and California adopting either ‘Rare Book Week’ or ‘Rare Books ...’ for their annual book fairs. This year's program includes over 50 events presented by 28 partners from major Australian universities, institutional, corporate and civic libraries, historical museums and societies and both the new and antiquarian book trade. The festival continues to have free admission to all events, making it accessible to collectors and book lovers from all walks of life. This year’s Melbourne Rare Book Fair includes rare book dealers from Australia, Austria, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
