Summary
We are excited to be exhibiting at the Melbourne Rare Book Fair being held at the University of Melbourne from Friday 27th – Sunday 29th July. Please find our catalogue available for download here.

We have assembled a collection of rare printed and original works which relate to the history and discovery of Australia, spanning the seventeenth to twentieth centuries. Some highlights include original colonial watercolours (Henry Burn, George French Angas), ethnographical portraits based on the Baudin and Freycinet voyages, photographic portraits and archives of indigenous Australians, and a variety of accounts of voyages to Terra Australis, both real and imagined. A selection of rare books (some with original artworks) by Margaret Preston, Conrad Martens, Ida Rentoul Outhwaite and others are included, as well as some charming geographical games, pocket globes and children’s books relating to discovery and exploration. All items are illustrated with further images on our website.
